Amritsar: In India, twin youths by birth were recognized as separate voters.
According to Indian media, the elections held in the city of Amritsar in the state of Punjab have proved to be quite different from the last general elections. The voting of the youth affiliated to the faction made this election memorable.
Mohan Singh and Sohan Singh voted separately but faced considerable legal difficulties. The twins had two legs but were separated above the torso.
Mohan Singh and Sohan Singh were issued separate identity cards which separated their identities and their names appeared in the voters list.
Special arrangements were made for the twin brothers to cast their votes so that they could not see each other's ballot papers.
An operation was planned to separate the teens, who were born in June 2013, but their parents forbade them to do so due to the risk of death.
