Canberra / Tokyo: After the United States and Britain, Japan and Australia also imposed sanctions on Russia.
According to foreign media, Japanese Prime Minister Fumyuki Shida announced the sanctions, saying that the issuance of Russian bonds was being banned in Japan and the assets of some Russian citizens were being frozen.
The Japanese prime minister added that Russia had violated international law by damaging Ukraine's integrity. Japan condemned the move and called on Russia to return to diplomatic talks.
On the other hand, Australia has also announced sanctions on Russia. After an emergency meeting of the Australian Security Council, Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison said he was opposed to Russia's controversial actions, along with other countries.
