ISLAMABAD: The federal government has issued a notification of 15% increase in the medical allowance of government employees, which will come into effect from March 1.
The Ministry of Finance has issued a letter to all the concerned ministries, according to which it has been decided to reduce the difference in salaries of federal government employees, under which they will now be given 15% special allowance.
The notification states that this allowance will be paid to government employees on the basic salary of 2017. Civil servants in grades 1 to 19 will get the allowance from March 1, however, employees who are already receiving 100% or more allowance will avail this facility. Will not be
The notification further states that the disparity allowance received by government employees will remain frozen at the level of March 1, 2022 while income tax will be applicable on the amount of this allowance.
According to the notification, government employees will continue to get this allowance even during holidays and LPR, however, they will not get this allowance on extraordinary leave.
The notification further said that the allowance received by the employees will not be considered as part of the salary for determining graduation, pension and house rent. Allowance will be restored on repatriation while suspended government employees will continue to receive this allowance even during suspension.
