Jakarta: The head and teacher of an Islamic boarding school have been sentenced to life in prison for sexually assaulting 13 female students in Indonesia.


A court in the Indonesian province of Java has sentenced a teacher to life in prison for sexually assaulting 13 female students between the ages of 11 and 16 at a boarding school between 2011 and 2016, according to the International News Agency. Is.

 
The parents of an aggrieved student had lodged a complaint with the police against Harry Viramin, a 36-year-old headmaster and teacher of Madani Boarding School in Bandung, and the teacher was taken into custody.

 A dozen female students also appeared during the trial.

The investigation revealed that most of the students were poor and were studying on scholarships while some of the students got pregnant and gave birth to 9 children.

Following the horrific revelations, the court was also asked to punish the brutal teacher for sexually abusing her, but the court sentenced the accused to life imprisonment.
