MUMBAI: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has banned actor Sonu Sood from entering polling stations in Moga, Punjab.
According to Indian media, District Magistrate Harish Nair said that Sonu Sood was visiting the local polling booths where his sister Malvika Sood was standing as a Congress candidate.
Authorities also seized Sono Sood's car for violating the law and installed a surveillance video system outside his residence.
Harish Nair has sought details on the matter from a senior Moga police officer. Sonu Sood, on the other hand, said that he did not ask anyone to vote for his sister during his visit to the polling booths. He only went to see the arrangements of his Congress party booths.
Sonu Sood also said that while other candidates were buying votes in Moga, the Election Commission should arrest them.
