ISLAMABAD: The government has started providing lunch to students in government schools.

According to Express News, the government has started a program to provide lunch to students in government schools in Islamabad. Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood inaugurated the school meal program by giving food to the children. 25,000 children in 100 schools in Islamabad will be fed on a daily basis.

Speaking on the occasion of inauguration of School Meal Program, Education Minister Shafqat Mehmood said that students in government primary schools will be given by Allahwala Trust, for which I am grateful to the trust, such institutions are a beacon for us.

 We will take this program to the government level as well. We have met with the Director of UNICEF and we have a great desire to launch this model across the country but there are difficulties due to lack of budget.

Shafqat Mahmood said that many children who do not go to school, poverty is also a reason. When asked about the class today, only one child said that he has come after breakfast. Food will be provided, soon it will start in all primary schools in Islamabad.
