ISLAMABAD: The Bureau of Statistics has released monthly inflation figures.

According to the Bureau of Statistics, inflation rose by 1.15% in one month, the overall inflation rate reached 12.24%, the inflation rate in February 2021 was 8.7%.
 
On a year-on-year basis, inflation rose to 3.54%, July to February of the current financial year was 10.52%, in one year, the price of tomatoes as a whole exceeded 310%, the price of edible oil 41.03, vegetable ghee. Prices of pulses rose by 38.82 per cent, lentils by 38.42 per cent, vegetables by 33.31 per cent, meat by 23.64 per cent and rice by 11.89 per cent.

In urban areas, tomatoes became 191.72 per cent more expensive in February, compared to January 2022. Prices of chicken increased by 11.61 per cent, vegetables by 10.69 per cent, fruits by 7.32 per cent, mustard oil by 5.33 per cent, vegetable ghee by 2.68 per cent and cooking oil by 2.37 per cent. ۔

In rural areas, tomatoes became costlier by 198.35 per cent, poultry by 8.73 per cent, vegetables by 10.69 per cent and cooking oil by 3.74 per cent, according to the Bureau of Statistics.
