ISLAMABAD: Vehari police have arrested three accused involved in the murder of 16-year-old Asma in the name of honor.
According to the spokesperson of Punjab Police, a 16-year-old girl Asma was killed in Vehari. In the course of investigation, the police arrested the main accused (uncle) Reis Bhatti from Rawalpindi within 24 hours and recovered the murder weapon.
The Chief Minister Punjab and IG Punjab had taken notice of the incident yesterday. DPO Vehari Tariq Aziz supervised the case and formed teams for immediate arrest of the accused.
DPO Vehari Tariq Aziz said that Vehari police using modern technology arrested 3 accused including the main accused. According to the preliminary investigation, Asma was brought from Multan by her father Rafiq Bhatti and she Together they planned the assassination.
The DPO said that after the murder, Rafiq became the plaintiff as per the plan and the chief accused Rafiq had to pardon him a few days later. Police took timely action and arrested the three brothers. IG Punjab is investigating the case. Surveillance has been directed so that the accused can be punished as soon as possible.
