Madinah: Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman visited Madinah and visited the Holy Shrine of the Holy Prophet, while also ordering the expansion of the first mosque in the history of Islam, “Masjid Qaba”.
According to Arab media, Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's Qaba Mosque will be the largest expansion in history, covering an area of 50,000 square meters. The expansion will increase the capacity of the mosque to 66,000 more worshipers.
In this regard, the Crown Prince said that the purpose of the expansion project is to highlight the religious significance of Masjid Qaba and preserve the sacred monuments located near the mosque with its architectural style while constructing 57 places including wells, fields and gardens and Rehabilitation is also part of this plan.
Prince Muhammad bin Salman further said that the completion of this project will also increase the capacity for pilgrims during the Hajj and Umrah season. All roads leading to Masjid Qaba will be repaired so that more visitors can come.
It should be noted that Masjid Qaba is the first mosque in the history of Islam which was built by the Prophet (sws) with his own hands.
During his visit to Madinah, Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman also offered prayers at the Prophet's Mosque and reviewed the facilities provided to the devotees.
