ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has suspended the notification to include the names of six former government officials in the stop list.

According to AMK News, a petition filed by PTI leaders Shahbaz Gul and Shehzad Akbar against inclusion in the stop list was heard in the Islamabad High Court.

Giving great relief to the petitioners, the court suspended the notification of inclusion in the stop list and issued notices to the DG FIA and Home Secretary.

The High Court also suspended the order to put the names of former principal secretary Azam Khan, former prime minister's digital media head Dr Arsalan Khalid and Muhammad Gohar Nafees in the stop list.

The court questioned the Home Secretary and the DG FIA under which authority the names of the applicants were included in the stop list.

Chief Justice Islamabad High Court Atharmanullah said that the court has declared the blacklist illegal, according to our decision, the name can not be included in the list.

The court asked Shehzad Akbar if he had been in the government. Didn't you finish the list to which Shehzad Akbar replied that I was a consultant and I had nothing to do with it.

Islamabad High Court adjourned the hearing of the case till 10:30 am tomorrow.
