ISLAMABAD: A limit has been set for purchasing cheap items at utility stores across the country during the month of Ramadan.
Under the relief package, purchase of cheap items will be subject to national identity card, people will be able to buy cheap items to some extent. There is a limit for monthly purchases of flour, sugar, ghee and cooking oil.
Utility stores have issued a notification that will take effect immediately. The notification directed the utility stores across the country to sell subsidized items within the stipulated limits.
A person should not be given more than 40 kg of flour in a whole month while no more than 5 kg of sugar should be sold on an ID card in a month, no more than 5 kg of ghee should be given and no more than two liters of coking oil should be given. Go
According to the notification, action was taken against those who sold more than the prescribed amount. The rush of shoppers is expected to increase during Ramadan, so shopping at utility stores has been limited to avoid shortages.
