ISLAMABAD: The no-confidence motion filed by the United Opposition has been successful, after which Imran Khan is no longer the Prime Minister. After the resignation of Speaker Asad Qaiser, Acting Speaker Ayaz Sadiq completed the voting process on the no-confidence motion.

On the orders of the Supreme Court, a meeting of the National Assembly was convened under the chairmanship of Speaker Ayaz Sadiq at 10.30 am, in which members of the opposition and government delivered speeches. However, no action could be taken on the no-confidence motion till 11.30 pm.

The dramatic turn of the session which started at 10:00 am came when Speaker Asad Qaiser chaired the meeting for the fifth time after meeting the Prime Minister and announced his resignation at around 11:30 pm and continued the proceedings of the House with Ayaz Sadiq. Requested

Following the resignation of Asad Qaiser, members of the government chanted anti-US and anti-government slogans and boycotted the House in protest.
