ISLAMABAD: Reuters has claimed that Pakistani security agencies investigating the US letter found no evidence of foreign conspiracy in the opposition's no-confidence motion.
According to the international news agency Reuters, Prime Minister Imran Khan had also presented a threatening letter in this regard as evidence, calling the opposition's no-confidence motion against him a foreign conspiracy.
An official familiar with the Pakistani security agencies' investigation into Prime Minister Imran Khan's revelation told Reuters on condition of anonymity that the country's security agencies had not found credible evidence to substantiate the prime minister's allegations.
The official further told Reuters that the security agencies had not been able to reach the conclusions reached by Prime Minister Imran Khan during the investigation into the letter.
It may be recalled that Prime Minister Imran Khan had for the first time waved a letter at a meeting in Islamabad on March 27, claiming that a big country was trying to change the government with the help of money from abroad. This letter is proof of that.
Later, while addressing the nation, the Prime Minister's tongue slipped and he mentioned the name of America but then he smiled and said that America is not any other country but after that in two different places Prime Minister Imran Khan not only mentioned the name of America. He even mentioned the name of the American diplomat.
On the basis of this letter, the Deputy Speaker had rejected the no-confidence motion, after which the Prime Minister advised the President of Pakistan to dissolve the government, on which President Arif Alawi dissolved the Assembly and announced elections within 90 days.
Opposition parties reached the Supreme Court on the dramatically changing situation where a hearing is underway on the rejection of the no-confidence motion under Article 5 on the basis of the same letter of Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri.
