ISLAMABAD: Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa has said that Russia's attack on Ukraine is regrettable.
Addressing the Security Dialogue Ceremony in Islamabad, the Army Chief said that security and stability of the region is part of our policy, prosperity, development and peace of the country is our priority, Pakistan sacrificed 90,000 lives in the war against terrorism. Pakistan has achieved exemplary successes against terrorism and the struggle will continue till the last terrorist is eliminated.
General Qamar Javed Bajwa said that India is deeply concerned about the supersonic missile crash in Pakistan, a missile of one nuclear country has dropped on another nuclear country, India should tell the world and Pakistan whether its weapons are safe. Pakistan has demanded a comprehensive probe into India's missile crash.
Going to Russia threatens serious consequences: PM
The Army Chief said that the situation on the LOC is satisfactory and peaceful at present, no major dispute has taken place in the last one year, and believes in diplomacy and dialogue to resolve the Kashmir issue.
General Qamar Javed Bajwa said that C-Pac agreement with China is very important, Pakistan is concerned about Russia-Ukraine conflict, Russia's attack on Ukraine is unfortunate, many civilians have been killed, immediate end to Russian aggression on Ukraine. And the conflict should not get out of hand, Russian aggression is a great tragedy that can never be accepted.
The Army Chief said that we want better relations with the United States, the United States is Pakistan's largest export market. We have a long history of good relations with him.
He further said that we want to enhance our good relations with both China and the United States in such a way that the relations between the two countries are not affected by one cause. Pakistan does not believe in any camp politics. Should not be, we also have good relations with the European Union and Japan, Pakistan wants to work together.
