The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Sunday denied that a team of the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) was investigating the alleged bitcoin case in India by Karnataka Police. And called these reports 'speculative' and baseless.
In a statement, the CIA said that the FBI had not sent a team to India to investigate the matter and that no request had been made by the US Central Intelligence Agency to investigate the matter. According to him, there is no question of permission of any kind of investigation by the competent authority in India. Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) spokesperson RC Joshi said that as the National Central Bureau for Interpol in India, the CBI has close liaison with international law enforcement agencies, including the FBI.
The statement came as Congress on Friday asked whether the FBI was in India to investigate an alleged "bitcoin scam" that the party had accused the BJP government of hiding in Karnataka last year. ۔ Senior officials later added that the statements and reports claiming the presence of an FBI team to investigate the case were based on speculation, without any basis and were issued in bad faith.
In a tweet, Congress MLA Prank Kharge from Chittorpur had said that he believed that the FBI was in Delhi to investigate the billion dollar bitcoin scam. As I said earlier, if the state investigates this matter seriously, the reality of the BJP will come to light. He had said that Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala had also tweeted. That's why the layers of #BitcoinScam are finally being exposed! ‘
He asked a number of questions about the alleged scam, including whether the FBI was in India to investigate India's largest bitcoin scam cover-up under the Karnataka BJP government. He also asked the government to investigate and release details of suspects, including politicians.
